Careers Industries’ new building reflects the growing demand in our community for services for and by persons with disabilities. Our expansion signifies the success of our more than 350 participants as staff, community partners and area businesses have enriched their lives through work, care and community. As we celebrate our 40th anniversary this year, our new home represents our plan for the future – to continue to provide high quality, innovative care, support and services to persons with disabilities, as well as area businesses and the entire community. Careers Industries’ new building will also re-energize the surrounding community with over 400 participants, staff and caregivers, coming and going daily.
Location: 4811 Washington Ave., Racine, WI. Property is known as Westgate Mall
Size: 52,000 square-feet compared to current 25,000 square-foot location

- High tech training rooms, teaching kitchen, larger lunch rooms, exercise room, large outdoor teaching garden and covered drop-off area
- 23,000 square-feet of production and warehouse space to provide services for area businesses compared to current 12,000 square-feet

Design Features:
The new design of the exterior of the building incorporates an inviting and creative design including such features as curved roof entry, cultured stone along the front of the building, curved parapet walls and wooden trellis.
Renovation Team:
Team includes several Racine and nearby businesses including Straightline Grading & Excavating LLC, Franksville; Service Drywall & Decorating, Caledonia; O'Brien & Herman Plumbing LLC, Sturtevant; Kurk Concrete and Y-Not Masonry, both of Union Grove; Cicchini Asphalt LLC, Kenosha; and Liquid Systems, Pleasant Prairie. Triad Construction, Inc. served as the renovation's general contractor and Saab Design, LLC as the architect.
